In 1992, moved to Hanoi to work for 1 of the 1st joint ventures in the car industry. It was March and we were welcomed by a biting cold that characterizes Hanoi winters. Home was the Thang Loi Hotel, beautiful sprawling hotel by Thang Long lake; rudimentary, at best, but friendly staff and an excellent introduction to Vietnamese cuisine- bahn mi, pho, tom, tit chanh.
It was all work; 730am to 430pm, 6days a week. Took these pics shortly before leaving for Christmas holidays back home in Manila.
Have not been back but hope to do soon. Am sure Hanoi is now very much in the 21st century.
